Quilts of Valor Successful, Next the Pillowcase Relay!

Our Quilts of Valor sewing day last Saturday was a great success...all sorts of help showed up to sew!
Enough blocks were sewn to make 2 quilt tops for the Quilts of Valor organization!
Thanks to everyone who generously gave their time on Saturday, and a super big thanks to Cathy Washburn, Joy Abbott, Cass Bowen and Lynne Minguez who spent the whole Saturday assisting the sewers!

Our next community event will be Friday, September 17.
We will be taking part in the Miles of Pillowcase Smiles event for ConKerr Cancer.
Sign up for a time slot to take part in our pillowcase relay...let's see how many pillowcases we can make in one day!
Bring your basic sewing kit and child friendly fabrics. Sewing machines will be provided

Our newest Moda line is here - Fandango by Kate Spain!
We love the "spa colors" of aquas and greens that you will find with these fabrics, plus Kate has added a "punch" of a salmon/orange that we just love!
Charm squares and jelly rolls will arrive next week!
The jacket that was featured at our Spring Market Review with the Texture Magic accents was made from Fandango.

By the way, did I ever tell you that I rode in the Airport Shuttle with Kate Spain in Minneapolis?
True story...she is a super sweet person and we love her Moda fabrics!
It was a great week for New Magazines!
My very favorite magazine, Quilt Sampler, has arrived!
Take a tour of 10 top shops from around the country, plus revisit a previous Quilt Sampler shop. 10 projects too!
McCall's Quick Quilts arrived, full of projects and inspiration.
Mary Jane's Farm magazine has a new issue.
This new magazine is really a fun read, wide variety of articles, including a great one about the attitude of gratitude.
Also on this link, are the special 5 blade, Pink Packs of Olfa Rotary Blades.
Part of the proceeds of these sales goes to support Breast Cancer Research.
Stock up on your blades, and support a good cause.

It's taken awhile, but the Twister rulers are back in stock!
Both size rulers are back and we are still waiting on the books.
If you have previously placed an online order for rulers and books, we have your rulers set aside for you, and will ship them when the books arrive, hopefully mid month.
The Twisters is a totally fun method to make a twisty quilt, but only sew squares...it's so clever and they all look great!
Open Labor Day, next Strip Club
This weekend we will be open regular hours, 10am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, closed on Sunday, and OPEN LABOR DAY, Monday, September 6 from 10am to 3pm
Next Strip Club is Saturday, September 18. Fabrics will be Reproduction fabrics, and the photo will be up on the web by the weekend.
